We worked with the San Fransisco Giants to create 35 SF Giants Barry Bonds inflatable baseballs. The inflatables were used as part of Barry Bonds jersey retirement ceremony at AT&T Park, on August 11, 2018. During Bonds’ career as a Giant at AT&T Park, he hit 35 splash hit home runs into McCovey Cove. Each baseball inflatable had his jersey number digitally printed on two sides as well as the splash hit number and date on the top. The baseballs were then inflated and placed into the Cove to accurately replicate where and when the splash runs were hit over his career.
Each of the 35 SF Giants Barry Bonds inflatable baseballs were sealed units, constructed of heavy-duty vinyl. They featured three sided digital logos as well as hand painted stitching. Each inflatable baseball also included a Boston-style screw valve, balanced tether system, patch kit and instructions. The entire set of 35 baseballs took about 5 weeks to construct. For several weeks leading up to the implementation, we consulted with the Giants to help insure a successful outcome. A few large orange inflatable spheres were used as testers prior to the completion of the inflatable baseball set.
